Hi! I'm Catherine, writing SFF about queer people who lie and steal and bicker constantly.
Right now, I'm finishing my YA fantasy about magic-using pickpockets who get caught up in Events. It's got parkour, a wine forger, an eccentric dowager, and a teenage protagonist trying to keep her brother in school--while using four separate aliases, all of which are getting progressively harder to juggle. And then there's the creepy clockwork doll that's awfully condescending for someone they found in a box.
I'm in the process of querying my queer SF novel about dirtbag aliens who lie and steal and are afraid of humans, as told by their ship's cook. (I have a couple very promising leads, but if they don't pan out in, I'll shelve it for now. Either way, I'm in the home stretch!)
And of course, I have other stuff in the pipeline too…like my video game After Work, about breaking into your coworkers' desks and email after everyone's gone home for the day. What can I say? I like writing about crimes.
I took a gigantic two-decades-long break from writing due to life getting in the way and then not feeling inspiration, but aside from that, I've known I wanted to be a novelist since I was five, and technically, I might be close approaching that?
The past few weeks, I've been watching the Pitt and replaying Starfield. One of those has a far stronger narrative!
