Since we're a forum, we have to collect personal information so you can log in and post things and all that fun stuff.
Which means we also need to maintain and make available Privacy Policies and the like, to comply with certain laws in certain places. So there they are.
There's nothing fancy here, I literally just plugged our forum information into a template and checked the boxes for the forum-related stuff and it generated generic legalese at me. Honestly, the template is more written for corporations than privately-run forums, so it's scarier-sounding than it needs to be, but now we're legal.
You can request a copy of your data in our forum by navigating to your profile, and choosing "Export Data" under the drop-down menu labeled "Controls". You can also choose to delete your data, which will also delete your account.
The Matomo mentioned under the Privacy Policy is our self-hosted analytics software. We don't send anything to Google Analytics, we keep it all on the same host as the forum (different database at that host, though). But if you don't want to give it any of your data you can disable the analytics section in the cookie policy popup, or use a cookie-blocking browser like Vivaldi.
For those concerned about data privacy laws, our server host is French, and our datacenter is in Gravelines, France.
In Memoriam
In memory of my favorite grumpy French anarcho-unionist / chef / sysadmin, who convinced me I could make these dreams a reality then had the nerve to leave the mortal plane so I'd have to prove him right, the stubborn bastard. GNU GorkamWorka.
